Hi, I'm John.

Five years ago I got a phone call that changed my life. It was an ad agency asking me to film a 30 day documentary for Levi's. They apologized profusely for how small their budget was but when they said the number I held my phone away from my ear and guffawed loudly. It was nearly as much money as I made in an entire year at my corporate job. I tried to play it cool and said that number would be fine and asked how they'd found me since I didn't have a website. They said they'd found me through a Vimeo video I'd posted and that I should probably make a website. Suffice it to say: I quit my corporate job. And I made a website.

It's been a wild ride. I'm currently residing in Brooklyn. I started a company called DuckDuck Collective, which is where I post all my collaborative and commercial work. This website,, is primarily for my personal work.  Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope our paths cross again soon!

I'm here to help.

Services Offered: Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Coloring, Audio Mixing, Photography, Retouching, Scoring, Studio Engineering, Music Production

Bonus Services: Motion Design, Graphic Design (I don't take jobs doing these things specifically but I often integrate these disciplines into other jobs.)

Job Rates: No job is too big or too small. I have a wonderful producer named Dana who can conjure up crews of any size to fit budgets from $650 to $650,000. We offer every aspect of pre-production, production and post-production.

Day Rates: Between productions I bebop around NYC doing freelance work, usually for ad agencies. For most in-office work my day rate is between $650-$1000 depending on the job to be done. I'm friendly; I work hard and fast.

Philosophy: Find solutions, not excuses. Take initiative. Be friendly. Be genuine. Life is not - nor should ever be - just about business; it's personal. We are persons.

How can I help you?
